Again… Christmas!

 

Without realizing it, the year has passed and we are immersed in December or in what is the same thing, the run-up to the Christmas holidays. They are family, endearing festivities, of reunion, of emotions, of illusions, of missing those who are not there and… of appetizers, lunches and dinners - for business, for friends, for family - that are linked to the ironic statement that circulates on the internet these days that “after December my measurements are: nomentra - sixty - bursts”. And we also have to think about cooking and sometimes we get stressed out because we already lack ideas…

Papaya to improve digestion

One of the problems with the dessert after a powerful meal, usually “well watered”, are subsequent digestive disorders: heaviness, bloating, gas, burning… Well, papaya is a very digestive fruit that we all know, which contains enzymes that aid digestion. What perhaps not everyone knows is that at the Buddhist Lotus Monastery” on Big Island Hawaii, many years ago, Ji Kwang Dae Opep Sa Nim, the Dharma teacher and founder of the Monastery, developed a technique (now patented) to cultivate, concentrate and multiply the properties of this already beneficial fruit. Nowadays, in Sri Lanka (formerly Ceylon), a “puree” is prepared, following this ancient technique. The success of the process begins with the organic cultivation of papaya that takes place on this beautiful island. Once the fruit ripens on the tree, it is picked and, after inspection and cleaning, each fruit is cut by hand and the seeds removed.

It is important that the fruit is very ripe and that it has matured on the tree because it is at this point in the fruit that its properties increase. In the next step, the pulp is crushed, cooked for hours and enriched with oxygen. At the end of the process, this concentrated puree is packaged in dosed bags. The process, today, is carried out with advanced patented technology [2] and under continuous supervision, passing controls at every step of the process to ensure quality. In the resulting concentrated puree, papaya enzymes (mainly papain) have 3.75 times more activity than those of unprocessed papaya pulp, also containing a high fiber content and preserving the rest of the nutrients in this beneficial fruit, such as vitamins, carotenoids and

mineral salts.


Purification, an essential ally.

Cleansing before the specified dates will help us eliminate toxins and prepare the body to digest better and not to overload itself. And if we have arrived late, because we are already immersed in full business dinners and celebrations of the “invisible friend”, cleansing after the holidays will help the body eliminate all accumulated toxins. The artichoke leaf, dandelion root, the aerial part of fumaria and horseradish have a beneficial effect on liver function, helping the liver to function properly by promoting the production of bile, essential for fat metabolism and promoting the elimination of toxins. The liver is one of the main digestive and drainage organs of our body and where many of the toxins we ingest (alcohol, saturated fat, excess caffeine, etc.) and that we manufacture in different digestive processes (such as the ammonia that is produced in the digestion of proteins) are eliminated

.

These plants also have a diuretic effect, so they exert a “washing” effect on the kidney. Alone or combined with other plants with a more specific action on the kidney, such as burdock root, birch leaves and orthosiphon leaves (or Java tea), they stimulate kidney function, helping to eliminate fluids and purify toxins through the

urine.

Elderflowers, on the other hand, and concentrated plum juice, exert a mild laxative action, which helps to cleanse the intestine. In Japan, China and other Asian countries, it is common to consume plum juice for breakfast to mobilize the kidney and intestine. Another plant that should not be forgotten is milk thistle, whose dried fruits contain silymarin, a complex substance (a mixture of various flavanolignans found especially in the integument), which acts directly on liver cells as an antagonist against various hepatotoxic agents. In the form of phytosomes, it is much better absorbed and increases

its effectiveness.

And to protect yourself from “extra pounds”

The green tea phytosome, rich in catechins and without caffeine, promotes the physiological balance of body weight and helps combat oxidative damage. The catechins in green tea help control fat accumulation and maintain a healthy body mass index (BMI), in addition to preventing the oxidation of LDL cholesterol (bad cholesterol) and, therefore, have a protective effect against atherosclerosis by helping to reduce the risk of fat being deposited on the walls of

blood vessels.

Nothing more, we hope that our “recipes” will be useful and healthy for them.
