What is ProbiTec ® Defenses?
ProbiTec ® Defensas is a dietary supplement from the ProbiTec ® line that combines different strains of probiotics (lactic acid bacteria), with a minimum count of 5 billion live bacteria, with other ingredients that complete their function, such as zinc and vitamin D.
Probiotics (lactic acid bacteria) are found in many foods, such as yogurt and cheese, and several trillion of these bacteria are naturally present in our gastrointestinal tract.

The intestine has defense mechanisms that limit the access of harmful substances to the body. This intestinal barrier is made up of several elements, including the bacteria that constitute the intestinal microbiota

What is the microbiota?
The microbiota is the group of bacteria, fungi, viruses and parasites that live inside us, colonizing the intestine and other places such as the skin and the mouth. We have between 1-2 kg of bacteria in our digestive tract, which is 100 trillion microorganisms or 10 times more than the number of cells in the human body. This microbiota is comprised of between 300 and 1000 different species, although the majority (99%) probably come from only 30-40 species. An adequate population of bacteria facilitates, among other functions, digestive development, the normal absorption of nutrients and other unsuitable bacteria to colonize this space

- Lactobacillus: The genus Lactobacillus belongs to a group of bacteria that produce lactic acid, so named because they convert lactose and other sugars into lactic acid. The acidic environment inhibits the growth of some harmful bacteria. These bacteria are found in many foods, such as yogurt and cheese, and are naturally present in a healthy gastrointestinal tract .
- Bifidobacterium: The genus Bifidobacterium belongs to a group of bacteria that produce acetic acid and lactic acid. They are found in newborns and also play an important role in the adult population, being the most abundant genus in the intestine.
- Streptococcus: Within the genus Streptococcus, a group of bacteria made up of gram-positive cocci belonging to the phylum firmicutes and the group of lactic acid bacteria, Streptococcus thermophilus stands out, a safe bacterium with a long history of use. It is one of the most commercially important lactic acid bacteria because of its role in supporting the colonization of other beneficial bacteria.
What role do zinc and vitamin D3 play?
Both zinc and vitamin D contribute to the normal functioning of the immune system. Zinc also contributes to the normal metabolism of macronutrients, especially carbohydrates and fatty acids, and to protect cells against oxidative damage.
What is the patented Cryogenic® technology?
The products in the ProbiTec ® line include patented probiotic strains (FloraActive ®), with documented efficacy and produced with Cryogenic® technology. Cryogenic ® is a protective technology that minimizes cell damage and optimizes the integrity of probiotics during handling, storage and ingestion.
