At 100% Natural we have an absolute commitment to sports. Sport is health, it is life and we always like to support both projects and athletes who have behind them a story of overcoming, of challenge, of hope and who are an example to follow. This is the case of Jesús Ángel Arconada, triathlete and double world transplant champion. His story reached 100% Natural through the Medyr Clinic and David Mortimer González de Vega and as soon as we knew her, we didnt hesitate for a moment to support him in his great adventure, which is currently taking place: participating in the World Transplant Games in the Australian town of Perth, which end on
April 22.
Jesús Ángel was born with Sotos Syndrome, a genetic disorder characterized by larger than normal limbs, low muscle tone, increased height and stuttering. A disease that, according to his doctors, made it difficult for him to play sports. But against all odds, at the age of 8, Jesús Ángel began competing with his mountain bike, becoming the Madrid Mountain Bike champion at the age of 12. He was also part of the Madrid National Team in some championships in Spain. At 18, his health set a stone in the way again, when he was diagnosed with leukemia. These were very difficult years. After the bone marrow donation from his own father and the subsequent transplant, his body asked him to do other sports besides cycling and that was when he began practicing such a demanding and tough discipline as triathlon
.
A lot of work, a lot of effort and a lot of tenacity that have led him to where he is right now, nothing less than being world champion of the World Transplant Games held in 2019 in Newcastle, world runner-up in the World Transplant Games in 2017 in Malaga and bronze in the European Transplant Games held in Sardinia in 2018.
At 100% Natural it is an honor to accompany Jesús Ángel in this new challenge in Australia and to share with all of you this interview that we conducted in our office, in which Jesus told us a lot about his life, his challenges and what sports have meant in his life and for his health.
The entire 100% Natural team wishes you the best of luck!
