MicoVital® Shiitake is a dietary supplement based on shiitake mushroom extract (Lentinula edodes), from which only the fruiting body is used. This mushroom is of great nutritional value as it contains all the essential amino acids and provides a good amount of vitamins and minerals, as well as fatty acids. It also contains other valuable compounds such as beta-glucans and triterpenes (eritadenine and L-ergothioneine), which have functional properties for the immune system.
The product is available in two formats: capsules with the dry extract and bottles with the liquid extract.

MicoVital® Shiitake – Dry extract in capsules In addition to the extract of shiitake fruiting bodies, it contains zinc, copper and selenium which contribute to the normal function of the immune system and the protection of cells against oxidative damage.
MicoVital® Shiitake – Liquid Extract Contains only liquid shiitake extract in a convenient 50 ml bottle. It can be taken by adding it to coffee, tea, or smoothies, or directly sublingually.
Although until a few years ago fungi were classified as vegetables, today they are considered to constitute an independent kingdom of equal rank as animals and plants. With a high nutritional profile of proteins, micronutrients and important bioactive compounds, they are an important nutritional tool for taking care of our health.
They represent an important source of biologically active polysaccharides in fruiting bodies or in some cases sterile heads. Most of these polysaccharides belong to the beta-glucan group; they have beta- (1—>3) bonds in the glucan backbone and additional beta- (1—>6) branch points that are responsible for the properties of these medicinal fungi.
In the MicoVital® line of medicinal mushrooms, we only use the fruiting bodies of fungi, using birch bark from the forests of Finland as a substrate. As an exception, we have the Chaga mushroom, which is collected from birch trees in the forests of Finnish Lapland and whose sterile heads are used, and the Cordiceps, which is a fungus that concentrates the compounds of interest in the mycelium.
Ultrasound-assisted extraction (UAE) is an innovative extraction technique that significantly improves the performance of compounds of interest in the final extract.
During extraction, mechanical vibrations are sent through the liquid suspension that cause enormous pressure flows on or within small areas located in the liquid suspension.
This causes what is known as acoustic or ultrasonic cavitation, which forms small pressure bubbles on the surface of the mushroom cells present in the solvent; these eventually implode or “collapse”, causing an opening in the cell wall of the fungus and exposing the internal constituents to the solvent of the extract.
In this way, the UAE is similar to a key that “opens the treasure chest” enclosed within the walls of fungal cells, easily releasing compounds of interest and optimizing extraction.
The Chinese mushroom or shiitake (Lentinula edodes) is an edible mushroom with a brown color and an intense aroma. Its common name comes from Japanese, consisting of the words “take”, which means mushroom, and “shii”, which refers to the tree on which it usually grows, Castanopsis cuspidata, a variety of oak.
He wears a nice beige and brown hat, with a soft touch, which in nature can reach up to 25 centimeters in diameter.
Perhaps it was the first mushroom cultivated, about 2000 years ago, in Japan, Korea and some regions of China. The Japanese ethnic Kyusuyu offered them to Emperor Chuai back in 199, and the emperors of the Ming dynasty enjoyed them to maintain their strength and youth.
